How is the Executive Board elected?

The Executive Board is elected through a nominating committee established by the PTA and consisting of 5 members. The nominating committee is announced at the beginning of the calendar year and approved at the February General Association meeting.

The nominating committee will publicize open positions through the Surf Report, social media, the PTA website, Konstella, and family and friends. All those interested in volunteering for an open PTA position may make inquiries or sign up.

Once all positions have been filled, the nominating committee will release a report that announces the slate of officers. This report is presented to the General Association for approval by a vote at the April General Association PTA meeting.

Elected individuals may serve in the same position for up to 2 years.

What are other ways to be involved with the PTA?

If you’d like to be involved with the PTA without being an Executive Board member, you can still participate through the General Association. You can also join a committee such as the Reflections Art Program committee to help run various school events. And finally, we would not be able to do all these activities without the help of general volunteers.
